Overcoming Obstacles on the
Right Path to Success
Sometimes we have those days. Where out of no where we are blind-sided by obstacles that feel like they’re just too big to move out of the way. In my career as an entrepreneur I’ve faced so many obstacles: financial hardship, not having the skills I needed for success, missed opportunities, loss of partnerships and hardest maybe of all, people who I care about not believing in me. I’ve come to learn over the years some great keys to overcoming obstacles on the right path to success. Not only that, I’ve become acutely aware of the fact that these obstacles usually indicate that I’m actually on the right path to my dreams.
One of the most important keys is not dwelling on the negative. People can be really harsh. I’ve experienced some insane criticism, even from people who were really close to me. It was hard because I valued their opinions very much. Over time, it would become clear whether their feedback was actually to help me, or if it was some sort of place their own sense of lack or jealousy of the calling on my life. Often this negativity had nothing to do with me; it had to do with the void they felt in their own hearts about not walking into the fullness of their own calling.
I’ve been able to really take a step back in those cases and just look at them through the lens of love. Even when it hurts, seeing the best in people is the best answer. Sometimes that means that they can no longer be in your inner circle of confidants or advisors, but it doesn’t change the fact that you love them. Being consciously aware of who’s in your inner circle is one of the most important decisions you can make for not only your business but for your life. Realize that these people are also overcoming obstacles on the right path of their own life as well. Choose to be a step up, not a step for them to stumble over yourself.
Go for a walk and let your emotions out in a healthy way. Choose to funnel that energy into your own success. It’s not wrong to want to prove to your haters of who you are and who God is in your life, His greatness and His glory. Knowing who you are gives you the freedom to do that in love and without being offended.
Remember that obstacles are usually overcoming obstacles on the right path to success and they’re there to make you stronger. We aren’t meant to fall and stay down, but we are meant to get up even stronger. We are meant to be warriors for love and truth in our lives and in the marketplace.
